Four juvenile green sea turtles found stranded in January and February of this year were successfully rehabilitated and released on Saturday, May 5. All of the turtles were cold-stunned when they were found, but recovered well after veterinary treatment, slow warming, and a good diet. Nearly 110 people were in attendance for the beach release. The turtles were returned to the sea by dedicated N.E.S.T. rehab volunteers. N.E.S.T. sends a big thank you to the staff at the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, NC National Park Service, and the NC Wildlife Resources Commission for their assistance.
