New for 2016!!! Sea Turtle Nesting Response Training
Spring Trainings are for volunteers interested in responding to early morning nesting activity. Volunteers help to confirm that eggs were laid, collect DNA samples, and relocate nests when necessary. They then stake off the nest site to protect it for the next two months or so.
Nesting Response 101 will provide the basics of nesting response. Those who have responded to fewer than four crawls, have not been active for the past two years, or those who simply enjoy a refresher should plan on attending 101.
Nesting Response 201 is designed for volunteers who are well-seasoned and looking for additional information about nesting response and nesting biology.
Volunteers may attend either 101 or 201 to get their permit and be put on the phone tree for response (but all are welcome to attend both if they wish).
NEST Orientation & Natural History is required for new volunteers and optional for returning interested in a refresher. New Volunteers should complete a volunteer application (click here).
