With a lot of dedication and hard work (and her mom Ivy), Maren Ingram has helped to raise over $700 for NEST with the proceeds from her summer lemonade stands. Most recently, she raised $310 with a stand in Nags Head.
Did we mention they were selling cookies too?!
These monies will assist NEST with the large cost of rehabilitating sick or injured sea turtles in our Rehab facility located at the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island. The average medical expense per turtle is about $400. Once Maren heard about the cost to heal these unique and special creatures (yes, we are biased!), she was driven to find a way she could help. And boy did she ever!!
