2016 sea turtle nesting season has brought a record number of sea turtle nests on the Outer Banks. As of July 30 there are 39 recorded sea turtle nests discovered and monitored by the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (N.E.S.T.).
Nesting response supplies such as stakes to mark off the nest site and items like caution tape had been exhausted. Upon hearing of N.E.S.T.’s plight, Steve Sanders, assistant store manager of Lowe’s of Kill Devil Hills offered a generous donation of much needed materials to help N.E.S.T.’s efforts to aid in the survival of one of nature’s finest.
The all volunteer membership of the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles (N.E.S.T) and the threatened and endangered sea turtles thanks Lowe’s of Kill Devil Hills for their support. SALUTE!
