1/17/12 an 8.5 pound green turtle was found in Sandy Bay on Hatteras Island by William Thompson of NPS (National Park Service). After an exam, reptilian blood work, and an x-ray, Will, the green turtle, (named for William Thompson) was transported to Rehab. He (or she) was placed in salt water after warming up and showing that he could lift his head easily to breathe above the water. 
Will had shown no interest in food since arriving which resulted in his being force fed 1/23/12. Hopefully, he will start eating on his own before he must be force fed again.
