On her last ATV ride of the season, Barbara came by Nest #06 for her routine check and discovered a large hole dug into the nest site. Unfortunately our crafty fox seems to be back this year. Last year in the same vicinity we had a fox predate a nest here. Fortunately, this fox seems to take only what it needs! A total of 16 eggs were found scattered around the site with only the evidence of shells around. The team cleaned up the site, checked the egg chamber which looked to be filled with more beautiful eggs, and reburied. They will be placing a predator cage over it in case our friend decides to come back. I am optimistic that we will still see great success from this site! Keep fingers crossed!
