After a week of monitoring Nest #02, the nest sitters got a real treat late last night when over 50 little hatchlings came spilling out of the sand.  This was quite a show especially because a few weeks back, about 25 eggs had been dug up and eaten by a fox.   Since then, there have been no signs of his return but just in case, the nest was covered with a metal cage (that the hatchlings can still get out of).

Nest #2 incubated for 62 days.  We’ll see how long nest#3 decides to take!
