Nearing the finish of his run, ATV rider George found the tell tale sign of a turtle crawl on the beach in Sanderling.  Unfortunately, it turned out to be a false crawl.  It seems mom came in, hit the remains of a small but ever present (about 1 foot) scarp, and turned around and looped her way back to the ocean without laying eggs.  The good news is, based on the size of the crawl as compared to yesterday’s, this is a much larger mom which means we have at least two loggerheads looking to lay eggs.  Maybe tonight is the night for both of them!

False crawl in Sanderling.

Mother loggerhead turned back around at the escarpment.
